Prestigious law firm sues burger joint over smell | Washington Examiner

Prestigious law firm sues burger joint over smell | Washington Examiner: "- Sent using Google Toolbar"

It's a classic David and Goliath story: A white-shoe law firm staffed with hundreds of D.C.'s most-powerful lawyers has moved to shutter a hamburger eatery on the grounds that the lawyers didn't like the aroma of cooking meat wafting into their offices.

So far, Goliath is winning.

D.C. Superior Court Judge John Mott ordered the restaurant, Rogue States on Connecticut Avenue near Dupont Circle, to shut down its grill this week. Neighboring law firm Steptoe & Johnson had sued the restaurant, saying the firm's employees suffered nausea, watery eyes and headaches from Rogue States' fumes.

I'd say this is a bit extreme. However, I do have a little related story

When I worked at KSAL in Salina, there was a nearby burger stand called the Cozy Inn. Cozy burgers were a lot like White castles, with the onions fried right in. The aroma was legendary.

We had a rule at the station that no bags of cozy burgers were allowed in the building. And if you walked inside the store instead of using the walk up window, you were not allowed back in the building..

So maybe this suit is not completely without merit. ;)

Chocolate Covered Bacon | Uncrate

Chocolate Covered Bacon | Uncrate: "- Sent using Google Toolbar"

I love bacon. And I love chocolate. Does that mean they go great together? I do know that salt enhances the flavor of chocolate. And bacon is salty.

What do you think?

Sun Chips Bag to Lose Its Crunch - WSJ.com

Sun Chips Bag to Lose Its Crunch - WSJ.com: "- Sent using Google Toolbar"

Frito-Lay, the snack giant owned by PepsiCo Inc., says it is pulling most of the biodegradable packaging it uses for its Sun Chips snacks, following an outcry from consumers who complained the new bags were too noisy.

This story is just too good to pass by. Yet another case of the greenies falling on their faces.

I'm back?

I don't know why, but I'm getting the bug again.

The restaurant was fun, but in the end, probably a bad idea. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

I do like my job at Alorica, and it appears I am good at it. But something is missing in my life.

Maybe I just need to vent. And maybe, this is the the venue. Or is it?

It seems that the blog craze may be over. Things have moved on to the social networks like Twitter and Facebook. I have my accounts in those places. And I am still active on Facebook. But it was fun posting stories here and commenting on them.

It won't always be hard core politics. Sometimes, it will be fun stuff. But when I have free time, I think we will post some stuff. And if anyone cares to comment, you will be welcome to do so.

Who am I fooling? I don't even know if anyone will read this blog after all this time. After all, I am no longer on the radio, not even Internet radio. But if you do care enough to read, thank you. And let's enjoy the ride together.
