University forgoes handshakes at graduation - KTKA.com

Wichita State University graduates might get a well-deserved pat on the back when they walk across the stage to get their diplomas this spring, but they can probably forget about the traditional handshake with the school's academic leaders.

University officials say that because of the swine flu outbreak, there will be no handshakes between new graduates and the school's president and deans at commencement ceremonies May 15 and 16.

Do we really need to eliminate handshakes? I don't think so. Seems pretty silly to me.
