Zack Greinke On Pace To Win 30 Games | Bleacher Report

Zack Greinke On Pace To Win 30 Games Bleacher Report

Zack Greinke (6-0, 0.40) is off to a fast start for the Kansas City Royals and is on pace to win 30 games in 2009. No pitcher has won 30 games since former Detroit Tiger Denny McLain won 31 games in 1968 against just six losses.

It is tougher to win 30 games now because most starting pitchers average 34-35 starts a season. That means they have to record a decision in at least 30 games a season in order to match McLain.

Zach is great, but he is not going to win 30. But it is nice to see the excitement at the K when he is on the mound. And the team seems to be playing well behind him.
