Supreme Court Justice Souter To Retire : NPR

Supreme Court Justice Souter To Retire : NPR

NPR has learned that Supreme Court Justice David Souter is planning to retire at the end of the current court term.

The vacancy will give President Obama his first chance to name a member of the high court and begin to shape its future direction.

Just in case you didn't have enough to pray about, here is another issue. This retirement shouldn't shake up the court too much, as Souter tended to be on the liberal side. But with much of the court being older than Souter, There could be a lot of concern over the next 3 1/2 years.
