Former Vice President Dick Cheney sounded off about former Secretary of State Colin Powell on Sunday, suggesting that he is no Republican.
Cheney made the comment on CBS News' "Face the Nation." Powell endorsed President Barack Obama's candidacy, Cheney noted: "I assume that's some indication of his loyalty."
Powell, who says "the Republican Party is in deep trouble" for following the lead of people such as radio's Rush Limbaugh, says the party should reclaim the center.
Cheney said Sunday, "If I had to choose in terms of being a Republican, I'd go with Rush Limbaugh."
I also have my doubts about just how Republican Colin Powell is. You know, the more I have heard from Dick Cheney since he left office, the more I like him. I wish he were a few years younger and in a bit better health. This is a man I could support for president.
